A shining, sparkly ball of angst, now based in Manhattan!

a very moving entry

The move, at long last, is done. Everything that was over at Michael’s place is now here, at my tiny apartment in Queens.

Big, big, BIG thanks to Laura, who was able to supervise my move FOR ME at my apartment in Queens when, due to a minor snafu, I had to take the LIRR from Michael’s house to Manhattan, and then a cab to my apartment. (I was supposed to have gotten a ride from Michael’s to my place, but things happened and I had to adjust. No one’s fault.)

My movers KICKED FUCKING BUTT and I will definitely use them again. *So* fast. *So* organized. * Whew. * If you’re in Manhattan or the boroughs, they’re called “Rabbit Movers” and they rock.

All the boxes made it into my tiny little apartment. However, I’ve been working with the Box Monolith for the greater part of today. :) I’ve thrown out about five boxes of crap. My arms may never be the same. (Ouch ouch ouch…) The books are all in one spot (they’ll go on the bookcases soon as the CD tower that goes in between the bookcases gets here), and the kitchen stuff, while still in boxes, is actually in my actual kitchen. And, yeah, mini-storage (self storage) is definitely in my future. Gah.

Emotionally, I’ve been better, as you all could figure. I’m going what Michael went through in reverse — the unpacking process is bringing back a ton of memories. Hell, just seeing our kitchen table in my apartment is blowing me away. I’m glad it’s here (I have CHAIRS!), but I have memories of me and Michael and our friends eating at that table, and it makes me very, very sad. Which means I’ll just have to have a party soon. I’ll hang tinsel off the Box Monolith, it’ll be great… :D
