A shining, sparkly ball of angst, now based in Manhattan!

so that…is that.

My divorce was finalized on Tuesday, March 7.

The e-mail from our mediator started, “Congratulations! Your divorce has been granted!” I don’t know that it’s a matter for congratulations, exactly. While I think it was a necessary step, I’m not running around plucking “Tiptoe through the Tulips” on the banjo now that it’s finished…

I’m relieved that it’s over and done with, but I’m sad that it came to this. I genuinely, honestly wish it had worked out differently for us; that neither of us needed to go through that round of heartache and pain.

So. I’m legally single. I’m no longer a hyphenate. Um…woo?

  1. I know that particular mingling of relief and regret all too well. But congratulations all the same: not on the divorce, but on the new stage in your life.

  2. Much hugs your way…

    What is that they say about doors closing and windows opening..

    I’m thinkin about ya.. I am here (and not drunk and looking for cough syrup!) like you were for me. :-)

  3. ::hug::
