Can't get enough MeatLoaf? Do you listen to "Bat out of Hell" I and II several times per day? On a hot summer night, will you offer your throat to the Wolf with the red roses? Well, now you can have that same style, that same charm, help you SEARCH THE INTERNET in Search with MeatLoaf!

Yup! Believe your eyes! It's search engine! With MeatLoaf!

No, really! Look and see!

Rawkin'.

The Doomsday Clock is now two minutes closer to midnight. Global security and environmental issues are also being considered, along with the threat of nuclear war.

No snarky comments. Read more here.

I'm not having a bad hair day. I'm having a demented hair day.

So: for whatever reason, I started humming "Sing a Song" to myself. I got to the part that goes, "Don't worry if it's not good enough for anyone else to hear...just sing...sing a song!" And my thought processes wound to a grinding halt as the true meaning of that hit me: Don't worry if your song absolutely sucks chunks, just sing it anyway!

That, my friends, explains how American Idol got on television.

she's so cold...

No, there is no Rolling Stones song going on, nor is anyone a burning bush, a roaring volcano, or hot for me. I, however, am frickin' freezing. I haven't been warm since last night! And my bones hurt. :(

I don't know whether it's the 70-degrees-one-day, 30-degrees-the-next weather we're having (right now it's 34 degrees) or whether I've managed to catch the office illness -- all I do know is that I'm pretty miserable.

Brrrrrr!

soft, the secrets

AfterParty I'm in a soft mood today. I was up late (2:00) and had to be up earlier (8:00) so we could pick up our Zipcar...to pick up our Xmas decoration boxes from mini-storage...to pack up our ornaments and bring our tree to Mulchfest tomorrow.

This is the first year I've ever had a live tree, and I felt tremendously guilty about it. Yup, there's a secret treehugger deep in my gothy little heart. (Shhhh, Internet, don't tell anyone!) Dropping it off at Mulchfest makes me feel a bit better -- our tree could wind up in Central Park!

My lovely R gave me this lens for Xmas. It's great in low light. I've already taken pictures of him sleeping. He looks beautiful. (Secret #2 for today.)

I'll be taking a digital shooting workshop class at NYU this spring. It meets twice per week; once on Saturday afternoons (when you go out and shoot) and once during the week (critique). This is good, as I know I need to improve -- I know folks enjoy my photographs, but *I* see things that can be fixed. I need to work on fixing them before the picture's taken, so it's habit. And I need to learn how to shoot people. I always feel intrusive, even when the picture-taking is welcomed. My favorite thing to shoot? The small details, especially on buildings. Little gargoyles that don't get noticed in the course of a stroll. I beam at them, and sometimes they beam back, even if their carved stone faces don't move.

I'm wearing a perfume today that's not very me at all, yet I like it. I love all of the Apothia perfumes, in fact. (I got "L" as a sample when I bought my regular perfume, "If" perfume oil. ) So maybe I'll purchase the small size and wear it on days when I want to be sexy with a difference.

It is 70 degrees out. It's January 6. This is New York. Current Los Angeles temperature: 63 degrees, with a high of 67. What's wrong with the weather, when New York is warmer than L.A.?

There are stars all over our apartment. R had bought some silver and red stars to sprinkle on our tables for our holiday party a few weeks ago. I sprinkled liberally, and now they're everywhere, and will be forever. Some of them are in the photo above, taken the day after our holiday party.

I like that!
