the rainbows, they’re in my brain…
…or, “How to go from 0 to 60 in the space of two days.” :)
As of last week, Rob and I had no plans for Fourth of July weekend — as in, none. And honestly, we were okay with that — we thought we’d sniff around, see if anyone was doing anything on the actual Fourth, but other than that, la la la whatever.
By Thursday morning, we were totally booked and trying to figure out how we’d do it all. We had drinks! We had dinners! We saw friends! We saw music! The only thing we didn’t see was fireworks, but we’re seeing those this weekend, so we’re covered…
I think one of the best parts of the weekend was seeing the Murakami exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. (Click on the picture above for a sample.) Murakami does a lot of work that involves anime characters, statues, and superflat pieces. I love it! His typical work involves tons of bright colors and happy faces…total cuteness overload for me, induced fear for R, as I was running around “squee-ing” at everything. XD I think he thought my head was going to explode. :)
And, for my fellow Warcraft geeks — one of the best unexpected parts of the weekend was running with a pickup group through Magister’s Terrace. I should have stopped playing after that and hopped the first plane to Vegas — I got an amazing bear tank ring, epic cat boots, and the Vitality enchant. This is the best gear I’ve ever gotten for my druid out of an instance — nothing ever drops for her! — and from a PUG, even! (And now I can run Heroic Magister’s, too…)
All in all, a great weekend. :)
