Just a little wave from the land of Cake. Lots going on around here. R’s grandfather, who married us, is having surgery tomorrow to update his pacemaker. We’re all nervous. R’s really torn up about it. R’s grandfather has had mini-strokes in the past few years, and he’s very frail, so… There’s fear, and with reason.

He just looked at me tonight and said, “from here on in, they’re all going to be like this.” And all I could do was hug him, and try and take care of him, because he’s right.
