My name is Roe. I’ve been writing on the Web since 1999. The shot above is me, at the Standard Hotel in Los Angeles, around 2007 — the night after I got engaged! Here’s where I’ve been:
- metrocake.com: 1999-2004. Started a few days after I got engaged to be married for the first time, it noted many major events in my life: planning for our wedding, our wedding day, the death of my father, and the deaths of my grandparents. In 2003, it also announced my separation from my husband.(Those archives are no longer available. I’m a different person, married to a different person, and while some of the entries were hilarious, many were pretty painful. The funny ones may make their way back someday…but fresh starts are good.)
- ultramegawow.com: 2004-2006. Life in Astoria, Queens — adjusting to dating and divorce.
- metrocake.com: 2006+. New life part two (three?). Living on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with my boyfriend … husband-to-be … husband. Geekery abounds!
